We are delighted to have the opportunity to welcome a representative of the "Women in Hebron" co-operative to address a public meeting in Guildford on Thursday 29 October.  The cooperative produces traditional Palestinian handicrafts and is a vital lifeline for many families in the strife-torn town of Hebron.  There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of these beautiful products. Women in Hebron

Traditional Handicrafts Co-operative

The Women of Hebron co-operative provides work for women in the Idna district of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. The women produce beautiful hand-woven and hand-embroidered traditional rugs, cushion covers and other handicrafts, which they sell in the Old Hebron market and online. The initiative creates both work and hope for some 120 women and their families in a city which is frequently at the centre of tensions and violence. Nawal Slemiah, founder of the co-operative, will be speaking about the work and achievements of the co-operative. There will also be the opportunity to purchase some of these lovely artisan products.
