Open Bethlehem

St Nicolas Church Hall, Bury Street, Guildford GU2 4AW

This is a deeply moving account of a city in crisis. Leila Sansour returned to Bethlehem in 2005 to make a film about her home town, soon to be encircled by a wall.

The film reveals a city of great beauty and political strife under occupation. As well as telling a personal story, this documentary charts the creation of an international campaign with a vision to keep Bethlehem as a thriving Palestinian centre with a prosperous spiritual, cultural and commercial life.

The film runs for 90 minutes and there will be a Q & A session with
the director Leila Sansour after the film.
