Here is an unmissable opportunity to watch the acclaimed comedian Mark Thomas and Palestinian colleagues from the comfort of your own home. At the same time you will be helping to raise funds for much-needed support for child mental health programmes in Palestine and Lebanon.

As the most long-serving and active Patron of the charity The International Medical Education Trust 2000 (IMET2000), Mark has kindly offered to stream this show ‘Showtime from the Frontline’ with 20% of the income coming to the charity to support our child mental health programmes in Palestine and Lebanon (

IMET2000 is one of four charities working in Palestine that Mark has chosen to support in this way (PSC one of them). IMET2000 is dedicated to the higher education and training of all professionals treating physical and mental trauma in child victims of violent conflict, extreme poverty or natural disasters. The latest disaster of course is the COVID-19 pandemic which we fear will dramatically increase the need for our clinical mental health services in Palestine, especially in the refugee camps after lockdown is lifted. Mark has worked on many comedy and theatre projects in Palestine with the support of IMET2000 particularly in establishing the Jenin Comedy Club as we view comedy as one important thread in maintaining a healthy psycho-social fabric in difficult circumstances. This culminated in the hugely successful UK tour of ‘Showtime from the Frontline’. What he and Dr Sam Beale and their Palestinian colleagues are achieving with our continued support is amazing..

The show opens with a live introduction from Mark Thomas before the recording and is followed by a live Q&A with Mark, Sam Beale and the two Palestinian comedians Faisal Abu Alhayjaa and Alaa Shehada. We applaud Sam for her ability to encourage young people to perform and Mark and his Palestinian colleagues for a wonderful show. We hope you will enjoy this great on-line experience.
