The National Lobby of Parliament for Palestine will take place this year on 28th November at Westminster. Lobbying your MP directly is a great way to raise the profile of Palestine and to show your support. PSC will provide briefing papers and questions for you to ask your MP if you are not sure yourself.

The rejection of the EU-Israel Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of industrial products (ACAA) is important for the promotion of peace and justice. In its agreements with third countries, we believe that the EU should promote and respect human rights and fundamental values. The benefits brought by the adoption of such agreements should not be built on breaches of international law, unlawful or inequitable exploitation of resources and/or unfair and discriminatory practices. In the case of the EU-Israel ACAA, EU citizens do not want to benefit from Israeli control over Palestinian land; obstacles to the movement of goods and people and exploitation of natural resources by the Israeli authorities; and the forced dependency of Palestinians on Israeli regulations and policies which impedes prospects of sustainable growth in the OPT and benefits Israeli industries.

West Surrey PSC had a very successful morning's leafleting in Woking last Saturday with over 500 leaflets taken. Unfortunately an incident occurred which we have filed a complaint about with Woking Council. More information on this will follow.

Follow up:

Is Woking Town Square private property? The the answer to this appears to be unclear at present. One police response indicates that it is so they were right  to assist security guards in asking us to move on because the council had told them that the Town Square was private property.

The Woking Council response contradicts this as a representative said the Town Square is Council property, therefore public, and they have no agreement   with shopping centre security.

This beautiful mosque is one of the oldest in Europe, surrounded by a big garden courtyard. The weather was clement and it was full of families and children throughout the day. There were games for them, food for all and many stalls.

West Surrey PSC had a stall at this annual event. There were briefing papers about Palestine, scarfs and other Palestinian goods for sale as well as Zaytoun food products. It proved popular. Many signatures were gathered for the petition regarding the abuse of children in Palestine by the Israeli army, and generous donations obtained."
